TOPIC: How to minimize onboard financial corruption ?

How to minimize onboard financial corruption ? 01 Jun 2012 23:20 #4021

Every one in the sea service must have heard about some ships or some officers, where mostly Master and/or Chief engineer do some monkey business and earn a lot of money out of it.
In this topic of Sailor's forum we seafarers shall try to Highlight and understand such malpractices and will also suggest some measures by which such things could be curbed or at least minimized.

biggest corruption is in bond store and provison .. proviosin is for all and all money master only take away. so basic need of every seafarer is affecting.. this shuld be stopped. as to take out full control from master.

main financial corruption onboard is bond store and provision . master is fully responsible for this kind of corruption. so there should be more engagement of other senior officers in this regard. all these accounts should be showed to all onboard and there should be more transparency in the accounts.

See this report of the ill-fated Korean Ferry...though Master and the crew were irresponsible but the Systemic faults in the Ship management and responsibility of Flag States has the bigger role in the casualty.
