Two 120V 15W metal filament lamps are arranged as earth detector lamps on a main switchboard which has a constant potential difference of 110V across its bus bars. As a result of damage to the insulation of the supply cables to an electric motor the resistances to earth of the positive and negative leads are reduced to 10 and 5 respectively.
