Show that the maximum efficiency of a transformer occurs when the I2R loss is equal to the core losses. A single phase transformer whose primary winding is connected to a 50 Hz supply has a secondary winding of 50 turns and given an induced voltage of 100 V on no-load. The iron section of the transformer core is 20 in2. Determine the maximum value of the core-flux density in M.K.S. units.
