Ukrainian sailor fell six metres deep in cargo hold

A Ukrainian crew member of the "Kapitan Kravchenko" fell six meters down into the hold of the a trawler in Kristiansund. The man was flown by helicopter to St. Olav Hospital in Trondheim. Police and EMCC were notified at 2 p.m. about the accident aboard the Russian trawler which was berthedat the Fisheries base in Kristiansund. The accident occurred during work with a 3 x 3 meter-hatch. The man stood on the tailgate and fell off when it was hoisted into place. After the rescuers got the man out of the hold on a stretcher, he was lifted onto the basket to one of the fire department ladder trucks. He was then transported by ambulance from the quay and picked up by helicopter
